Nestled in the Montecito foothills of Southern California’s wine country, San Ysidro Ranch has provided a tranquil vacation destination for discriminating travelers and celebrities for over a century.  Guests are drawn to the Santa Barbara hideaway for its blend of natural beauty, romantic heritage and classic luxury.  Myth and history mingle in the lush gardens where Vivien Leigh and Sir Laurence Olivier exchanged vows, and the setting of John and Jackie Kennedy’s honeymoon retreat.

$4M TECHNOLOGY BUILD-OUT

On January 9, 2018, Forbes' five-star San Ysidro ranch resort was devastated by a deadly
avalanche of mud, destroying half of the property's 41 cottages.

The Challenge

On January 9, 2018, massive debris flows crashed through Montecito, destroying nearly everything in its paths resulting in a city-wide state of emergency. Forbes’ five-star San Ysidro Ranch resort was one of the hardest hit in the area, devastated by the deadly avalanche of mud which damaged and destroyed half of the property’s 41 cottages. All technology including cabling, wifi, server room, pc’s and servers were completely swept away.

Working hand in hand with the hotel’s senior operation and construction personnel, Nexplay was engaged to design & build new network infrastructure along with guest room technology in time for an aggressive re-opening launch date.

The Solution

By properly managing construction staff and engineers, Nexplay was able to efficiently design, configure, and implement:

  1. All Server room technology
  2. A fully converged and secured property-wide network
  3. Wifi
  4. Surveillance
  5. Guest room technology

Nexplay also built out and configured the Micros, HTNG, Synxis, and Opera Interface machine two weeks ahead of schedule, ensuring the property’s successful  reopening on time.
