With oak floors, fireplaces, marble sinks and panoramic city views, Hotel 850 SVB is a 23-room residential-style property reminiscent of European inns. The hotel includes a communal living room with antique leather armchairs, a rooftop terrace offering small bites and wine at mezze hour, and a kitchen inside its 10,000 square foot property. Rotating into the kitchen are famed guest chefs, while Klein and team curate a wine list served at the lobby lounge and bar. For a separate project across the street, Klein’s JK Hotel Group acquired The San Vicente Inn at 845 N. San Vicente Blvd. for renovations with plans to turn it into a private members-only club called the San Vicente Bungalows.
A MEMBERS ONLY HOTEL OASIS
This project was the brainchild of famed hotelier Jeff Klein’s vision to open a new boutique hotel
and members only club on San Vicente Boulevard.
The Challenge
Nexplay evaluated this exciting project and was quickly engaged to handle all aspects of pre-opening project management, infrastructure build-out, and vendor management for the two locations. Due to its historic nature, the renovation of the property had very strict guidelines issued by the city, requiring ownership to partner with a historic preservation consultant and oversee the build-out.
One of the main challenges was the need to very thoughtfully implement best in class technology for both Hotel 850 SVB and the members only club at San Vicente Bungalows, that would adhere to the city’s requirements and not detract from the overall aesthetics of the property with its historic preservation in mind.
The Solution
Nexplay worked closely with construction to ensure that all underlying infrastructure was tightly managed & implemented prior to the rollout of installing technology. Within a very specific budget, the team was able to analyze, vet, and integrate hotel software solutions that would fully support seasoned operations staff and provide exceptional experiences for the establishment’s elite clientele.
All guest facing technology was carefully installed to blend with the historic property, and the project was successfully completed on time for opening, fully tested and tuned to perform optimally. With the successful launch, San Vicente Bungalows and 850 retained Nexplay as its partner to provide ongoing I.T. support which continues today.
